Meet the Airlines - IATA, together with key representatives of a number of its major airline members, will be discussing the challenges we are facing together as we implement many of the IATA programmes that have been outlined at previous PTE conferences. The airline speakers, together with representatives from the airports where they are working on these initiatives, will talk about how they perceive the implementation process, both the opportunities and the challenges.

Hemant Mistry, Director, Airports and Fuel, IATA, Switzerland

Speaker Biography: Hemant is the Director for Airports & Fuel within IATA’s Airport, Passenger, Cargo and Security Division. He works with governments, airports, ground service providers and jet fuel suppliers to build opportunities for partnership, efficiency improvement, effective capacity development and best practice implementation. Prior to taking this role, Hemant worked as Director for Industry Charges, Fuel and Taxation and was responsible for delivering US$3bn in savings for airlines in 2012. Before joining IATA, Hemant worked as a Senior Associate for Booz Allen Hamilton, a global management consultancy, where he led competition and regulatory assessments for the European Commission and performed safety audits for national aviation authorities. He also developed various business cases for airport and ANSP investments. Hemant’s first employment was with UK National Air Traffic Services, where he helped develop ICAO standards and recommended practices for new aviation technologies and operational concepts.
