Greg Fordham, Managing Director, Airbiz, Australia

Speaker Biograghy: Greg has over 25 years' experience as a consultant to the aviation industry. He is acknowledged for his expertise in airport strategic planning and air transport development. Greg has developed a team of consultants who have undertaken over 2,000 projects and studies in over 50 countries, on five continents. Through his involvement in a wide range of commercially based projects, Greg has an in-depth knowledge and understanding of airport economics and strategic planning issues. In 2009 Greg was recognised by Engineers Australia in its list of the top 100 most influential engineers. Greg is a board member of both Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific and ACI World Business Partners. He has lectured at Loughborough University, Monash University and the University of New South Wales, and is a member of the Advisory Board for the aviation courses at Swinburne University.

Synopsis: Fast travel initiatives and innovative terminal designs can remove frustrating queues at various processing points within airport terminals. This not only saves time for passengers but also reduces their anxiety. If passengers are then presented with useful and interesting retail, services and entertainment, their entire airport experience is enhanced. The airport also benefits through higher commercial returns. The presentation examines case studies of current initiatives that are being implemented, and future models for terminal planning. It will also provide examples of technology giving back time to the passenger through to innovative new concepts for the passenger experience, handling of baggage and commercial opportunities.
