James Robinson, Senior Strategic Advisor, ARUP, United Arab Emirates

Speaker Biograghy: James recently joined Arup’s Global Aviation Planning Practice as a Senior Strategic Advisor. Just prior to that, he was Head of Airport Planning for Dubai Airports for five years. His department is responsible for airport planning matters for Dubai International and Al Maktoum International Airports, including update of the master plans, terminal and facility development planning, airfield planning and regional land use compatibility issues. Prior to joining Dubai Airports he served as Airport Planning Manager for the Abu Dhabi Airport Company. In addition, he was a Principal at Leigh Fisher, where he led the Terminal Planning practice. He has been involved in major airport development programmes and management consulting at Atlanta, Columbus, Harrisburg, Los Angeles, New York (JFK and Newark) Raleigh-Durham and St. Louis international airports, among others.

Synopsis: The presentation will discuss the long-term development strategies of the major airport developments in the Middle East and Asia. Particular focus will be on opportunities and challenges these airports may face in the future. A specific case study of Dubai Airport's development strategy will be included.
