London City Airport Ltd

Speaker Biograghy: Bernard joined London City Airport in 1988, just 12 months after the airport first opened. He starting off in Marketing, and then spent several years in the commercial field at LCY, where he developed and ran the airport’s successful media sales business. During this time, Bernard launched the first-ever airport website in the UK (1996) and launched the first wi-fi operation available to passengers in a UK airport. Bernard was then asked to develop the airport’s airline and route network strategy, an area for which he still has responsibility today. During this time, passenger numbers have increased by over 500% and routes from 10 to 50 today. Milestones include the introduction of British Airways into LCY in 2003 and the first transatlantic service from LCY in 2009.
