- Challenges in the planning of Terminal 4
Synopsis: In view of the continued growth of air traffic at Changi Airport and to further strengthen Singapore's air hub status, it is necessary to redevelop the previous Budget Terminal into a new and larger passenger Terminal 4 to ensure there is capacity to handle any further increase in traffic demand. Terminal 4 is being designed with the flexibility to meet the operational needs of regional full-service and low-cost carriers, and with improved offerings to enhance the passenger experience. This presentation will focus on the challenges faced in the planning for Terminal 4.
Audience will learn:
- Understand the challenges faced, such as constraints due to height restriction, site area and site location
- Highlight the principal considerations for the planning of Terminal 4
- Understand how airport planners successfully manage and/or overcome the constraints in the planning and design stage for Terminal 4
