Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

Speaker Biograghy: With an MSc in Civil Engineering, Sandor has more than seven years’ experience in consultancy of traffic management and traffic capacity studies. For the last three years Sandor has worked at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol as Capacity Manager in the Passenger Services Department. He is responsible for the continual improvement of the passenger forecast at the terminal for the short- and mid-term. This forecast is part of the operational information used by all stakeholders at AMS. Sandor also advises in projects where passenger flows in the terminal are affected or the available flow capacity (e.g. security, border control, check-in) is affected.

Day 1 - 25 March
Session:
Management & Operations (inc ACDM, ATC & TAM)

09:40 - 10:10 - Collaborative prognosis of passenger flows – CDM predictive analysis
Synopsis: Long queues at security/border control is a problem not only encountered at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. To respond, AMS launched a project together with its stakeholders: Collaborative Prognosis of Passenger flows on Schiphol Borders (CPPS). This model combines data from all stakeholders, including airlines, determining the expected arrival patterns at security/border control. CPPS provides all stakeholders with required information for optimal resource planning, which will contribute to lower total process costs and better passenger experience. AMS chose a solution that automatically combines input data from all stakeholders to predict passenger volumes and waiting times, and recommends staff deployment.
