Andrew O'Brian, CEO and President, Corporación Quiport SA, Ecuador

Speaker Biograghy: Andrew is President and CEO of Corporación Quiport SA, an international consortium in charge of the construction, operation and maintenance of the New Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito. His career has focused on generating growth and efficiency in airport operations and transformation projects. He's an experienced manager in developing new routes and markets, with a high focus on quality management, customer service and relationships with different government entities. Andrew was formerly a Board Member of Airport Council International (ACI), is a member of the American Association of Aviation Professionals (AAAE) and is First Vice President of the Canadian-Ecuadorian Chamber of Commerce in Quito. Before joining Quiport, Andrew was CEO of AERODOM in the Dominican Republic, where he operated and modernised six of the country’s international airports.

16:00 - 16:30 - New Quito Airport: optimising performance for the stakeholders
Synopsis: Opened on 20 February 2013, the new Quito Airport provided a stepping stone for aviation in Ecuador. With a longer runway at lower altitude, and state-of-the-art facilities, this airport provides a unique opportunity to deliver and exceed the expectations of the stakeholders. This presentation summarises the dynamic first year of operations at the airport, with international traffic booming at 12% growth, strong route development including direct flights to Europe, frequent B747-800F operations and rapid development of the airport city. Particular focus will be on the stakeholder interaction that enhances performance and financial returns.
