Session:
Technology, Systems Integration, IT & ICT
15:30 - 15:55
- Benchmarking airport IT security management policies
Synopsis: During the last years, airport dependency on information technology (IT) solutions has increased, as airport operators have implemented a variety of technologies, processes and communication protocols to operate their own businesses and interact with others. Consequently, the vulnerability of the airport and aviation systems has grown. The ACI World Airport IT Standing Committee (WAITSC) has launched an Airport IT Security Benchmarking programme, to facilitate airports to assess and benchmark their IT security processes. The programme is based on a self-assessment checklist inspired by the International Standards Organisation (ISO) 27002 standard (code of practice for information security management).
Audience will learn:
- The problem: the need for a robust IT security management system and policies
- Introduction to the ISO 27002 code of practice
- Structure of the ACI Airport IT Security Benchmark programme
- Segmentation and demographic data used for the benchmarking exercise
- Case studies and lessons learned from the first wave of benchmarking among participant airports
