Day 3 - 12 March
Session:
Airport Design, Planning & Development
12:25 - 12:55
- New passenger terminal area of Maringa Regional Airport, Parana, Brazil
Synopsis: The actual terminal area of Maringa Regional Airport is going to handle 1,0 million passenger in 2014. The current terminal is completely saturated and expansion is very limited. Building a new terminal area would allow the construction of a multimodal rail and bus terminal in front of the new airport passenger terminal. Between the two terminals would be built a regional outlet and a new parking lot to serve the three facilities. Around the airport a 7.2kmĀ² area would receive an aeronautic pole and an industrial park.
Audience will learn:
- Planning of an airport facility maximising the commercial possibilities and access modes
- Urbanising the area surrounding the airport property for the implementation of an industrial park
- Commercialisation of the urbanised area to third parties interested in the development of an industrial park
- Integration of the airport activities with the industrial park, outlet, the actual terminal area and the multimodal terminal
- Socialisation of the entire multimodal transportation network, allowing people living in the suburbs to have easier transportation access
