Speaker Biograghy: Henrik is an accomplished architect with considerable expertise in urbanism, airport planning and terminal design. His extensive knowledge of working in 35 countries includes assignments as designer and strategic advisor. Henrik is the Founding Director of leit-werk, a unique platform supporting airports and larger consortia inspiring the design process in collaboration with other world-leading consultancies. He has been lead architect and urban designer in key projects including Khartoum New International Airport, Malpensa and Bangalore, and was awarded The RIBA President's Medal. Henrik engages in pioneering work that expands the possibilities of design innovation, pushing the functional and spatial integration of airports with their urban environments. Henrik’s professional work is inextricably related to research and teaching, including London Metropolitan University, Leeds Becket and the University of Brighton. Henrik became Senior Lecturer at Cranfield University in 2014, where he is heading the urban turbine research project.

Synopsis: Passenger terminals are turning into cathedrals of the new 21st century religions – connectivity and personal mobility. People will love to be in – even to live in – these sacred places linked to the sky. A paradigm shift will transform terminals into urban turbines, inspiring the entire travel community participating in the chaotic buzz of the never-sleeping global economy. The more this buzz is becoming a tangible positive experience, the more effectively the turbine will perform.
