Speaker Biograghy: Kenichi is a financial specialist in financial analysis and other aspects of business administration, and is engaged in the formulation of business strategies for Narita International Airport Corporation. Prior to assuming his present duties, Kenichi gained experience ranging from management to operations, including the Land Acquisition Department, Finance Department and Corporate Planning Department. This experience formed the crucial foundations for formulating business strategies in the airport industry. Between 2007 and 2009, he was seconded to the Heathrow Airport Office of Japan Airlines in the UK, where he gained knowledge in airport operations in Europe by studying practical aspects of the airline’s operation and management. As a finance specialist he has provided technical assistance for some airport projects overseas.

Day 2 - 11 March
Session:
Airport Design, Planning & Development - Middle East & Asia

16:40 - 17:05 - Low-cost terminal construction/operation and the implications for airport management
Synopsis: Narita's objective is to expand its route network further with the emergence of LCCs, and to maintain its status as Asia’s leading airports. The LCC terminal construction is part of that drive, and the terminal will open in spring 2015. We are striving to curb construction costs and rationalise outsourcing while setting charges low enough that users will find them acceptable. With the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we are working on other initiatives to solidify our position as our customers' preferred airport. These include improvements that will result in greater comfort and convenience.
