Speaker Biograghy: Jelmer derives his motivation from achieving goals with international teams in multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. He gets his energy from bringing out the best in people and delivering excellence to satisfied clients. He is an all-round airport consultant with international experience ranging from airport master planning for Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to design and engineering and construction management for Gibraltar International Airport. In his work he has a strong focus on project management. As a project manager he believes that the key to every airport project lies in stakeholder and interface management. As a professional he has the capability to put things in context and maintain an overview. He has proved himself to be analytically strong and able to reduce complex projects to simple result-driven work tasks. His communication skills allow him to effectively transfer ideas and advice.

16:15 - 16:40 - Design tendering considerations for TTIA Terminal 3
Synopsis: Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TTIA) is standing on the brink of realising the biggest project in the history of the airport since it first opened its doors in 1979. The New Terminal 3 will increase TTIA’s processing capacity by 45 MAP to accommodate traffic up to 2042. In order to appoint the best architectural team to design this new state-of-the-art facility, Taoyuan International Airport Corporation (TIAC) has engineered and initiated a design competition process. This presentation will elaborate on the considerations that were the basis of the process and the observations along the way.
