Speaker Biograghy: Peter specialises in airport design across three continent. He originally qualified as an architect and then diversified his role with appointments to international consultants, contractors and corporate client groups. He has led and directed multi-disciplinary design and development teams, delivering integrated and efficient aviation solutions. He has historic experience ranging from small-scale interior design and fit-out to large-scale infrastructure and city developments. As Director of Development – Airport Design for Dubai Airports Peter is accountable for the efficient delivery of the design development function for the operations at the busiest and soon to be largest international airport in the world. Peter has had considerable international exposure in Europe, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. He is passionate about the role of design, design management and development management in the design and construction process, and the value they can bring to client organisations.

11:05 - 11:30 - Dubai Airports: Strategic Plan 2050 at Al Maktoum International.
Synopsis: Dubai International Airport has maintained its growth for the aviation sector in Dubai, and is nearing completion of the capacity enhancements (under SP2020) taking Dubai International Airports to a 100+m hub by 2020. Plans are underway to future-proof the continued growth with the launch of the SP2050 masterplan at Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai World Central. The masterplan at AMI integrates Dubai’s surface transportation masterplan while delivering phased and incremental airport capacity ahead of demand. Phase 1 is planned to provide a 130m passenger facility with full airport facilities, with the passenger experience at the heart of the design evolution.
