Speaker Biograghy: Erick is Vice Chair of the ACI Europe Aviation Security Committee, and has worked in the aviation industry for more than 16 years. Three years ago he was appointed Head of Aviation Security Policy of AĆ©roports de Paris. Before that, he worked in airport operations and ground handling for more than 13 years. Erick spent around half of these 13 years in Paris as the Operation Manager of Paris-Charles de Gaulle Terminals 1 and 3; the other half were spent mainly in Asia (China and Cambodia).

Synopsis: In today's airports, the basic design and rationale of the passenger screening checkpoint is by and large influenced by concepts going back to the '60s and '70s. However, there has been a dramatic shift in passengers' and airlines' needs since then. Airports have been unsparing in their efforts, struggling to maintain security operations at the highest level while at the same time striving to address their clients' needs as well as adapting their resources and know-how to an evolving threat environment. Is it not time for us to rethink the process? If so, what should be its main components?
