13:40 - 14:25 - Cyber security – no time to lose!
Synopsis: IATA’s mission is to assist airlines in developing a cyber security strategy and drive coordination of global efforts in addressing cyber threats to civil aviation. We do this on three fronts: risk management and mitigation, advocacy, and reporting and communication. Industry needs to engage with regulators to prevent wasteful regulation in an area in which no one has a full understanding of the potential impact to our industry. Achieving a common understanding of risks will allow us to better work together on their mitigation with outcome-focused, non-prescriptive regulations – but the clock is ticking.

• Update on steps IATA, airlines, airports and others are taking collaboratively to reduce aviation cyber security risks
• The challenges the airlines are facing and how they are getting ready to cover them
• A holistic view of why aviation cyber security is potentially a significant threat to airlines and airports
