- ECAC 3 – a great step forward for aviation security
Synopsis: As of 1 September 2014, all newly installed equipment must adhere to the ECAC’s Standard 3. The new standard is a great step forward for aviation security and can help airports to have a simpler design in their security and baggage handling systems. ECAC 3 makes planning much more straightforward – both for airports and baggage handling system designers – as it will help airports to have a simpler design in their security and baggage handling systems. Overall it makes planning much more straightforward and, in some cases, costs may also be lower for the airport.
Audience will learn:
- What is ECAC’s Standard 3, and why must newly installed equipment adhere to it?
- What implications will ECAC 3 have for baggage handling?
- What are the benefits for the airport?
- How can the airport decrease the footprint of a baggage handling system?
- What are the advantages of a tote-based baggage handling system with in-tote screening over a conventional conveyor system?
