David Ruiz-Celada, Airport Capacity Planner, London City Airport, UK

Speaker Biograghy: David has four years' aviation experience and joined London City Airport two years ago, tasked with starting an in-house modelling function to drive and support decision making across the operations of the airport. Today the Capacity Planning Team works side by side with the continuous improvement team and change management delivery function to maximise efficiency across an already constrained airport to deliver optimum capacity and the best passenger proposition.

Increasing Airport Capacity

09:55 - 10:20 - Whole-system thinking in a capacity-constrained airport
Synopsis: London City Airport is well known for its convenient location in the heart of London and for its even more convenient passenger time proposition, allowing for quick journeys through the arrivals and departures processes. However, as the London market has become more constrained, LCY has been growing rapidly. This presentation will focus on what solutions the airport and its Continuous Improvement Team have implemented to maintain the airport’s passenger proposition while facing challenging throughput increases.
