Speaker Biograghy: Erick is Chairman of the ACI Europe Aviation Security Committee, and has worked in the aviation industry for more than 17 years. Four years ago he was appointed Head of Aviation Security Policy at Aéroports de Paris. Before that, he worked for more than 13 years in airport operations and ground handling, around half of it in Paris – he was the Operations Manager of Paris-Charles de Gaulle Terminals 1 and 3. He spent the other half of that time in Asia (China and Cambodia). Personal fact: His favourite topics, besides aviation security, are: aircraft and flying, scuba diving and whales.

Synopsis: In today's airports, the basic design and rationale of the passenger screening checkpoint is by and large influenced by concepts going back to the 1960s and 1970s. However there has been a dramatic shift in passengers' and airlines' needs since then. Airports have been unstinting in their efforts to maintain security operations at the highest level while at the same time striving to address their clients' needs, as well as adapting their resources and know-how to an evolving threat environment. It is time for us to re-think the process, but what should be its main component?
