Hans Jakob Schindler, Acting Coordinator Al-Qaida/Taliban Monitoring Team, United Nations Security Council, USA

Speaker Biograghy: Dr Hans-Jakob Schindler is responsible for advising on the threat posed by Al-Qaida, the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIL) and the Taliban, as well as the development of targeted global sanctions measures. Prior to this appointment, he was partner at West Sands and consultant for Stirling Assynt in the United Kingdom as well as advisor to several companies. He consulted on sanctions implementation, security, political and economic issues concerning Iran, the Gulf and the Middle East. In addition, he served as Foreign Policy Program Director of the Institute for Strategic Dialogue in London. His experience spans throughout the Middle East, serving for six years as the special advisor to the German Ambassador in Tehran. Hans holds Master's and PhD degrees in International Terrorism from St Andrews University in Scotland.
