Ülkü Özeren, Environmental and Sustainability Director, IGA Havalimani İşletmesi, Turkey

Speaker Biograghy: Ülkü has worked on the Istanbul New Airport Project since January 2014. Since the very early stages of the project she has been involved with preparation of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Study in IFC Standards. Under her directorate, there are three divisions: Environmental Management, Social Management and Wildlife Management, which includes Flight Safety and and Ecological Offset projects. She has wide experience in sustainability tools such as eco-labelling, GHG accounting, environmental management systems and carbon projects, in addition to international and national environmental requirements.

10:15 - 10:45 - What measures Istanbul New Airport takes for environment/sustainability
Synopsis: The ESIA study was prepared by Ramboll Environ to take a picture of the site and identify the potential environmental and social impacts during construction and operation. Accordingly, IGA has started environmental, ecological and social action plans to minimise projects impacts. IGA has ambitious commitments for sustainability in addition to mitigation measures taken.
