Speaker Biograghy:
As the Vice President of Business Development & CCO for Halifax International Airport Authority, Bert is responsible for growing the aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenue streams. He has a strong track record built up during 18 years in the industry, and extensive airline commercial management experience gained in various parts of the world. His career began as a management trainee at Lufthansa, where he worked in Germany, Greece, Ethiopia and Egypt. Bert was Commercial Director at RwandAir, managing all commercial and ground services and developing Africa's fastest-growing airline into a small, efficient carrier. In 2013 Bert was appointed Vice President Commercial at First Air. He was responsible for all commercial and ground handling activities as well as the strategic development and restructuring of the airline.
