Speaker Biograghy: Kirsten is a leading advocate for performance-based design and a recognised authority in green product standards and sustainability rating systems, including LEED, LBC, SCS Indoor Advantage, FloorScore, BIFMA Level and EPEAT. She serves as a sustainability ambassador, championing healthful and forward-thinking design solutions and leading public discussion around innovative and high-performance design, construction and operations. Since taking her first plane flight from the USA to Berlin when she was two years old, Kirsten has always had a special place in her heart for SFO. And she is delighted to be helping the SFIA team realise their Big Hairy Audacious Goals (BHAGs) of net zero energy, carbon and waste in the renovation of Terminal 1 and T3W.

16:15 - 16:45 - Delivering passenger delight and net zero performance: strategies for success
Synopsis: For airports around the world, there are often perceived and real challenges in achieving passenger delight, airline satisfaction, revenue expectations, construction cost controls and net zero energy, carbon and waste performance goals simultaneously. However, experience shows these multiple goals are achievable. In this presentation, we will explore the progression of SFO's dual commitments to exceptional passenger experience and getting to zero through the real-world lens of key T2, T3E and T1 design team members and SFO's Sustainability and Net Zero leadership.
