Ioannis Metsovitis, Vice President Operations, Hamad International Airport, Qatar

Speaker Biograghy: Ioannis has over 25 years' aviation experience and more than 15 years in the airport industry. Following a time as a commercial pilot and flight instructor, he held various senior airport roles. He was part of the management team of the new Athens International Airport, one of Europe’s flagship PPP/BOOT airport companies as Director, Aviation. He is now Vice President of Operations at Hamad International Airport (HIA), leading efforts to maintain high-quality operations and passenger experience in a high-growth environment. He is also a key member of the team working to showcase HIA as the host airport of the FIFA 2022 World Cup.

Efforts of HIA have resulted in prestigious accolades such as Hamad International Airport being named a 5-star airport with a leading position in the Middle East region. It has recently launched and is very quickly rolling out A-CDM with a great success, measured by the transformation HIA is achieving in its business, its operations across the entire organisation and progressively throughout the airport community.
