Speaker Biograghy: Philipp Kriegbaum, a former Criminal Investigation Officer, has worked at Frankfurt Airport for more than 25 years. In the beginning, he was a member of the team that built up an Operational Security Centre on behalf of the local regulatory body, before he terminated his career as a civil servant and joined the company operating the airport, Fraport AG (then Flughafen Frankfurt Main AG). He held various management positions in the field of aviation security and in the Business Development Department of the Traffic and Terminal Management Division. Today he manages the relationship with legislative bodies on national and international levels on behalf of his company’s Corporate Safety and Security Department. He is Fraport’s representative and a past Chairman of the ACI Europe Aviation Security Committee and the ACI World Security Standing Committee.

Synopsis: The public areas of airports have become the preferred targets of terrorists. Airport employees can do much to keep airports secure by remaining vigilant and sharing their observations with security staff. Additionally, in case of an incident, they should know how to react. The challenge for an awareness campaign is to raise the level of attention of the people addressed without scaring them.
